Shortlisted for the BRITISH PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2022!

WOW!!! I am absolutely over the moon right now! I have been shortlisted for the British Photography Awards, Fashion category, for my image ‘VERA’.

‘VERA’ by Siân Elizabeth - shortlisted in the Fashion category, British Photography Awards 2022.

Model: Vera for Savalas. MUA: Kimmy Cattin

It’s been quite the year and it just seems to be getting better! What an absolute honour to have been selected as one of the top 20 in the UK for ‘Fashion’ photography. Of course, I will be crossing my fingers that this might be the winning image, but there is also the people’s choice award too, so if you would like to vote, please click HERE and cast your magic entry!!! (Thank you!)

There are 19 categories, ranging from Fashion to Architecture, Self-Portraits to Birdlife, Macro to Weddings… scrolling through all of the entries has been wonderful and if you get a chance, go through all of the categories and cast your vote for your favourite image!

I recently saw a post on LinkedIn that Marine and Natural History lecturer and former student at Falmouth University, Gina Goodman, has also been shortlisted, in the British Photography Awards ‘Water Life’ category.

Falmouth University, or Falmouth College of Arts, as it was known to us back then, holds a very dear place in my heart. This is where I studied BA (Hons) Journalism and later went back to study MA Creative Advertising, so it is always incredible to hear good news about it, including being named the No.1 Arts University in the UK by The Times and Sunday Times.

Although I loved photography growing up, it wasn’t until I graduated and decided to go backpacking, that I really started to take it seriously. When I later went back to study MA Creative Advertising, I was mostly found in the photography studios (which are super impressive!) However, I wanted to study a different industry that linked both journalism and photography together and this later helped me with working on PR client campaigns! And this path has lead me to the amazing honour of being shortlisted!

Well done to everyone who has been shortlisted and good luck!
